Dar’s Craft Beer Picks
21st Amendment Brewery's Sneak Attack Saison (6.2%): This is a Farmhouse Saison brewed with organic cardamom pods. It is crisp, dry, and palate cleansing and pairs well with our smoked meats.
Ommegang’s Rare Vos (6.5%): Flemish for “Sly Fox,” this Belgian Amber has a mellow, fruity, and slightly spicy finish. It is delicious on its own or try pairing it with one of our tender steaks or burgers.
Rushing Duck Naysayer Pale Ale (5.2%): Naysayer is a West Coast styled pale ale. With over 2 lbs. of hops per barrel, it has more hoppy character than most IPAs, but with a modest ABV, medium-light body, and 35 IBUs it maintains the drinkability of a great Pale Ale. It has a deep golden hue, an effervescent citrusy/floral aroma, and just enough malt character to keep the hoppiness in check. Rushing Duck Brewery is located just south of here in Chester, NY. Enjoy with all different types of food, especially chicken and other poultry dishes
Ballast Point Sculpin IPA (7.0%): This gold medal winning IPA comes to us from San Diego, CA. They name their beers after different types of fish, and this beer is suitably named after the Sculpin fish because it packs a bit of sting (in a good way). The well balanced use of hops creates hints of apricot, peach, mango, and lemon. If you like IPA’s, this will surely not let you down. Pair with our spicy chicken wings and even our homemade amaretto bread pudding!
S and S Farm Brewery Brown Chicken Brown Ale (5.4%): Sing the name! This American-style brown ale is super fresh because it comes to us from a 6th generation family farm about twenty minutes away in Nassau. They are growing their own barley and hops to use in the brewing process on their 180 acre farm. This beer has a great balance of hops and specialty malts and finishes smooth. Pair this fresh pint with our delicious smoked BBQ dishes or try a new dinner entrée! (You can visit the brewery for tastings and growler fills at the farm on Fridays from 6-8 PM. Their address is 274 Middle Rd. Nassau, NY. Check them out! www.SandSbrewery.com.)
Spaten Optimator (7.5%): This is a full bodied German Doppelbock that has a deliciously rich malt flavor. It pairs very well with our BBQ dishes as well as our burgers topped with sharp cheddar or smoked Gouda cheese.
